DOYLE, Catherine G. (Hochhausen)September 12, 1932 - May 12, 2012On May 12, 2012, our precious mom, Catherine Doyle, passed away at the age of 79 years from cancer. She leaves behind her three daughters and their families: Lisa (Glenn) Dobson of Edmonton, grandchildren Lauren, Kristen, Evan; Janis (Bryan) Bradley of Calgary, grandchildren Thomas, Noah; and Sharon (Brian) Davyduke of Whitecourt, grandchildren Brenna, Emily. Catherine is predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Francis Doyle in 2000, as well as two sisters, Phyllis Sullivan and Margaret Ganser, and two brothers, Philip Hochhausen and Henry Hochhausen. She is survived by her sisters, Trudy and Marie, and brothers, Ben and Francis. Our mom, Catherine, was raised in Provost, Alberta, the youngest of 10 children, and moved to Edmonton after high school to attend college and pursue a career in nursing, which she loved. The greatest joy of her life though was her three girls and she stayed home happily to raise them and care for her family. In later years mom also found great enjoyment from classical music, the arts, playing cards, socializing, and travel. She enjoyed these with her many friends. Catherine will also be remembered for her love of her extended family and all the time spent with her eight siblings and their children. Over the last 10 years, mom and special friend Ted Tutt enjoyed all that the golden years had to offer and we are grateful that they enjoyed such a wonderful friendship. Our mom dealt with her illness in the same accepting and uncomplaining manner that characterized her entire life. Never one to complain or speak an unkind word, she lead by example. Possibly the greatest lesson she gave us was how to love her seven precious grandchildren in the same selfless and giving way that she loved us. A very special thank-you to family members Susan Klatchuk and Marianne Morrell for their incredible love and support of mom and our family in the final weeks of mom's illness.
