BARNES, Catherine (Kay) Pearl September 5, 1937 - April 27, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Barnes, after a tiring (second) battle with cancer. Kay passed peacefully with family at her side in the early morning of Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the age of 76 years old. Her strength and spirit lives on through family and friends, and she will be dearly missed by all. Catherine will be lovingly remembered, and is survived by her son, Bruce (Janet) Barnes, and her grandchildren, Blaine (Rose), Ryan and Kendra Barnes, and Brad and Michelle Drummond. She will be dearly missed by her two great-grandchildren (whom she loved to cuddle), Addisyn and Avery Barnes. Catherine also leaves behind her brothers and sisters: Charlie, Lorraine, Clarence, Art, Greta, Wilfred and Nena, and many cousins, friends, and other family members. Catherine was pre- deceased by her husband, William, and her daughter, Carol. Memorial Service will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 - 2nd Street S.W., one block east of MacLeod Trail at 53rd Avenue S.W.) on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Photos, memories and condolences may be shared with Kay's family through www.evanjstrong.com.
