Catherine Anderson, born in 1917, spouse of Robert Anderson, mother of Verity and Christopher, died on September 5, 2006 at 89 years old.
ANDERSON, Catherine (nee Jones) In the arms of her children, beloved wife of the late Robert Anderson, at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus, September 5, 2006, in her 89th year. Mother of Verity and Christopher, both of Salt Spring Island, BC, who embraced her in peace and love as she breathed her last. Survived also by granddaughters Riah Hoechsmann, Sascha Anderson and Zoe Anderson, and grandson William Boertjes and by great-granddaughters Chloe and Ava Hoechsmann. Catherine's extensive writing career involved numerous articles for Macleans and other magazines. She also wrote plays, poems and 2 books: "Phantoms Pursue Me" and "The Eye of Childhood". She worked on many of film-producer Robert Anderson's numerous award-winning documentary films. In keeping with her character and wishes, there will be a good old-fashioned musical wake in Ottawa in celebration of her cherished life. Friends, neighbours and family welcome.
