Carrie Vickery Henderson, 81, of Oakmont West Nursing Center, and formerly of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Clemson, S.C., died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006. Born in Hartwell, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Ralph Benton and Lillie Mae Phillips Vickery, and wife of the late Leonard Wilburn Henderson. Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter, Joy Sides (Dean), of Concord, N.C.; four sons, Ben of Rhode Island, Tom (Geri) of Clemson, Dean (Liana) of North Dakota, and Bruce (Jean) of Vermont; five sisters, Virginia Wilhite, Mary Mann, Martha White, Bert Summey, and Peggy Odom; 11 grandchildren, Carrie Miannan, Tim Henderson, Tracy Strother, Eric Henderson, Jim Henderson, Thomas Henderson, Len Henderson, Katie Henderson, Sara Henderson, Brandon Sides and Justin Sides; and seven great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a sister, Marquez Wilson. Services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation from noon to 1:15 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Red Cross, c/o Armed Forces Emergency Services, P.O. Box 9035, Greenville, SC 29604. The family is at the home of Jim Henderson, 222 McDaniel Ave., Greenville.
