->ETNA - Carrie-Anne Carter, 71, died unexpectedly May 30, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 6, 1941, in Cambridge, daughter of Cecil and Doris (Kimball) White.She was educated in Cambridge and Dexter schools. Carrie-Anne was a loving mother and homemaker for more than 53 years. She always had a four acre garden that her four children were expected to help in. Once the garden started to produce she would can everything she could to help feed her family for the winter. She loved to watch the birds at her feeders especially the humming birds. Her favorite time was when her family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were all around her. She was also very proud that she had been sober for the last 19 years.She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ronald E. Carter of Etna; two sons and their wives, Paul and Melissa Carter of Etna and Ronald and Catherine Carter of Jackson; two daughters and their husbands, Wendy and Michael Butterfield of Newburgh and Sheila and Vincent Brooks of Bangor; her special mother-in-law, Ruth Carter; four brothers, Gerald White, Sheldon White, Portor White and Stephen White; two sisters, Olive Tarr and Sharon White-Sisson; seven grandchildren, Heather, Angela, Megan, Corey, Nathan, Bethany and Benjamin; two great-grandchildren, Hayden, and Halle and one more on the way. Carrie-Anne was predeceased by infant twins, Dana L., and Darlene R.; also her first grandchild, Jeremy; and brothers and sisters, Gladys, Cecil, Carroll, Glenise, and infant, Cecil.Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High St., Newport. Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Etna, with Pastor Vasha Piermont officiating. The family has asked everyone to wear something yellow, that was Carrie-Anne's favorite color.
