Carolyn Sue Harris, age 62, a resident of Crestview, Fla., passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 23, 2010, in Crestview.She was born on Sept. 15, 1947, in Knoxville, Tenn., to the late Boss and Reba (Moore) Blackwell, and married on Feb. 7, 1967, in Chicago to James D. Harris. Sue and James worship the Lord at Woodlawn Baptist Church, where they are members.In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Banther and Bobbie Dockery.She is survived by her loving husband of over 43 years, James Harris Sr.; sons, James D. Harris Jr. and his wife, Lorie, Richard Glenn Harris and his wife, Elizabeth, and Brian Scott Harris; brothers, Jerry, Mack and Donnie; and sisters, Donna Hoff and Debbie Sliwa.Sue was so very fond of and attentive to children, and she will be especially missed by her beloved grandchildren, James Clinton, Matthew Scott, Ashley Rae, Christopher Noah, Alexander Caleb and Lyla Beth. Sue also leaves behind devoted friends, Phyliss Webster and Marilyn Bently.Funeral services will take place at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Double Springs, Ala., with Nichols Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Double Springs.In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Covenant Hospice in memory of the excellent care provided to Sue and her family during her final days.Local arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
