BOILING -->Carolyn Rankin Smith BOILING SPRINGS, SC-- Carolyn Rankin Smith, 67, of 101 Huey Street, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born June 24, 1940, in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clint and Uzelia Rankin and the devoted wife of the late J. C. Smith. She was a longtime sales clerk with J. C. Penney and Roses Department Store and a charter member of Chesnee First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Sherri Duncan of Live Oak, FL; a son, Keith Smith of Boiling Springs; a sister, Pat Lamb of Boiling Springs; a brother, John Rankin of Live Oak, FL; two granddaughters, Kelli and Ashley Smith; four grandsons, Cameron and Christopher Smith, and Chandler and Kendal Duncan; four great-grandchildren, Hailee, Nicholas, Zackery, and Jordan; and several adoring nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2:00-3:45 PM Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Chesnee First Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM at the Church conducted by the Rev. James Childers, Jr. and the Rev. Paul Childers. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home. An online guest register is available at www.floydmortuary.com.
