Carolyn L. Smith, 83 BIDDEFORD -- Carolyn L. Smith, 83, of Lyman died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford after a long illness. She was born Dec. 23, 1930. She was educated in Sanford schools before going to USM in Portland and getting her business degree. In June of 1948 she married Robert E. Smith in Yonkers, NY. He died on Dec. 10, 2010. Mrs. Smith worked Corning Components for years before retiring at age 55. During her retirement she worked at an antique shop. She was predeceased by a grandson, Aaron Cabana. Surviving are, one son, Ronald J. Smith and his wife Patricia of Lyman, two daughters, Diana Cabana and her husband Robert of Henderson, N.C., Dolores Jette and her husband Scott, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, 10 a.m., at Most Holy Trinity Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Saco. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
