Piedmont - Mrs. Carolyn J. Russell, 66, of Piedmont, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Cherokee County, Alabama, Mrs. Russell was born on September 28, 1945 the daughter of the late Margaret Tierce Rhinehart and Homer W. Rhinehart. She was a member of the Dailey Street Baptist Church and was a devoted housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her mother and by a brother, Douglas W. Rhinehart. She was married to Billy Russell on July 2, 1966. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Billy Russell; her father, Mr. Homer W. Rhinehart; one daughter, Melanie Russell (Dustin Bryan), of Piedmont; one son, Timothy H. Russell, of Piedmont; two brothers, David Rhinehart, of Leesburg and Donny S. Rhinehart, of Piedmont; three grandchildren, Alisha, Amanda and Nicholas Odell. Funeral services for Mrs. Russell will be conducted this evening at 7 p.m. from the Heritage Chapel of Folsom Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Smith and the Rev. Jerry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow on Friday morning at 11 a.m. at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and they include: Nichalas and Nickey Odell, Dustin Bryan, Dustin Smith, and Alvin Gowens.
