Carolyn Maria Mahon Harper, 63, of 1863 Standing Springs Road and wife of Harry E. Harper, Sr., died Monday, April 27, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville. Born in Greenville, a daughter of the late Robert Floyd and Eunice Ballenger Mahon, she was a homemaker, a former employee of City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Department, and a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Harry E. Harper, Jr. and wife, Tonya, of Greenville; one daughter, Lisa Maria Hicks and husband, Joseph Charles, of Greenville; one brother, Bill White of Greenville; one sister, Betty Epps of Baltimore, Md.; and five grandchildren, T.J., Justin, Dylan, Kenneth and Kennedi. Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Rev. Danny Gilliland officiating. The family will be at the home of the son, Harry E. Harper, Jr., 1875 Standing Springs Road, Greenville, SC 29605. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greenville Humane Society, 328 Furman Hall Road, Greenville, SC 29609.
