-->Carolyn E. Jordan CLARION, PA-- Carolyn E. Jordan, 83, a long-time resident of St. Petersburg, Clarion County and a former resident of Spartanburg, SC died at 7:30 PM Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Clarion Hospital, Clarion, PA following an illness. Mrs. Jordan was born in Newberry, SC on October 1, 1924. She was the daughter of James E. and Ida Mae Ringer Koon. Mrs. Jordan was a homemaker and an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for her family. She enjoyed the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed an especially close relationship with her granddaughter, Jordan Grigg. Mrs. Jordan had attended St. John Lutheran Church in Spartanburg and St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, PA. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Parker, PA. She had been a member of the St. Petersburg Women's Club and enjoyed playing cards with many friends in the Card Club of St. Petersburg, PA. Mrs. Jordan was married on June 26, 1942 in Converse, SC to Robert B. Jordan. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1966. Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn M. Louise and husband Barry, of Emlenton, PA, Jocelyn M. Jackson and husband Dave, of Parker, PA, Jacquelyn L. Grigg and husband Scott, of Inman, SC. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and their spouses. Kimberly and Bill Krebs, of Tarentum, PA, Lori and Bob King, of Foxburg, PA, Pam and Todd Wigren, of Oil City, PA, Wendi and Bryan Ziegler, of Seneca, PA, Brady and Jayme Louise, of Parker, PA, Emily and Troy Edwards, of Walterboro, SC, Sgt. Amanda Jackson, serving with the United States Army in Iraq, Jordan Ashley Grigg, of Inman, SC. Six great-grandchildren survive, Katie, Chloe, and Karly King, of Foxburg, PA, Kelsey and Kalynne Ziegler, of Seneca, PA, Benjamin Edwards, of Walterboro. Mrs. Jordan is also survived by a brother, Virgil Ray Koon, of Beaufort, SC. Four sisters survive, Frances Metz, Ruby Horton, Jackie Edge, and Martha Brown; a sister-in-law survives, Betty Koon; an aunt survives, Mattie Lee Murph, all of Spartanburg, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Terwilliger, who died November 5, 2001; and also two deceased brothers, James E. Koon Jr. and Bill Koon, and a deceased brother-in-law B.L. Metz. Private viewing and funeral services were held, March 4, 2008 in Emlenton, with the Rev. Dan Myers, pastor of the St. Petersburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Petersburg Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hile Funeral Inc., Emlenton, PA.
