September 22, 1926-March 11, 2009. Carolyn C. Smith, age 82, an elementary teacher for 33 years, died March 11, 2009 at Majestic Oaks, Orange City. Mrs. Smith was born in New York City, NY and moved to Florida in 1990. A graduate from the State University of New York at Oswego and received her masters from Teacher's College Columbia University. She taught overseas in Cucuta Columbia, South America, Kumamoto and Tokyo in Japan, Schweinfurt, Germany and Peekskill, NY. She was a member of Unity Church in Holly Hill. Survivors include two daughters, Susan M. Smith, Redwood City, CA and Deborah L. Smith, Peekskill, NY. Services will be at John Knox Village Sunday at 3 p.m.
