Obituary of Caroline-Elizabeth Fink

MacPHEE, Caroline Elizabeth Peacefully in her sleep at Longfields Manor, May 4, 2004. Caroline Elizabeth MacPhee, age 87. Born 1916, Vibank, Saskatchewan. Beloved wife of the late John Edward MacPhee, a World War II veteran. Cherished mother of John MacPhee (Lorraine), Jim MacPhee, Bill MacPhee (Brenda), Dorothy DeCesare (John), Joyce MacPhee, Alan MacPhee (Trudy) and Linda Vandergeest (Harry). Fond grandmother of fourteen grandchildren. Greatly missed by her family including her sister Mary Fisher, brothers Peter Fink (Millie), Alex Fink (Blanche) and Arnie Fink (Lorraine), and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fink, an infant daughter, Joan Carol, and brothers John Fink and William Fink. Caroline was a registered nurse and spent seven years working in a Red Cross outpost hospital in northern Saskatchewan before marrying and raising her family. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, and also worked as a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Caroline is fondly remembered by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity of spirit. Thanks to the staff at Longfields Manor. Friends may pay their respects at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Wednesday, May 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday, May 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral on Friday, May 7 at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2340 Baseline Road, for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Entombment Pinecrest Cemetery following the funeral.
