SMITH-On Monday, August 28, 2006, Carol Jean Smith (Jean) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 67. Jean was predeceased by her parents Hugh and Lydia Cambell, her brother Sandy, her sister Kathleen Wagner and her son Bradley. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Brenda (Buffy), many nieces and nephews, one granddaughter, and her puppy Kacee. Jean was born on May 6, 1939, at Valparaiso, Sask. She was a wonderful mother and a friend to many. She spent the majority of her life caring for others. She was a foster parent, a night supervisor at a youth facility in Regina. Up until her death she was actively involved and worked at the Saskatchewan Veterans Club. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (001) Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles Club in Regina. She was widely known for her fantastic sewing, baking, and many jokes. A Memorial Service will be held Friday September 1, 2006, 2:00 PM at Saskatchewan Veterans Inc., 1510 12th Ave., Regina, Sask, with Rev. Ron Sutton officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald Children's Charity of Canada, #1 McDonald Place, Toronto Ont., M3C 3L4, or the Canadian Diabetes Association, National Life Building 1400 522 University Ave., Toronto, Ont., M5G 2R5.
