Obituary of Carol-May Anderson


Carol May Anderson, age 50, of Cumming passed away Thursday Oct. 29, 2009. Carol was a member of Christ Fellowship Church and had a deep love for animals and gardening. She was involved in rescue of many animals, which was her passion. Carol also worked with Humane Hearts League, an organization that takes pets to visit the elderly in nursing homes. Horseback riding, planting flowers and visits to the beach and ocean also meant a lot to her. Her continued faith in the Lord was a constant with her even through her health issues. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Josephine Gerber. Survivors include her husband, Jeff Anderson of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Stan Rutledge of Cumming; sisters, Jean and Jesse Witmer of Hagerstown, Md., Mary Jo and Jim Kalbfleisch of Williamsport, Md.; brothers, Rich and Virginia Gerber of Oklahoma, Ron Gerber of Maryland. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Christ Fellowship Church in Dawsonville with Pastor Ricky Stepp officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 2, from 3-9 p.m. at Byars Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Humane Society of Forsyth County (770)887-6480. Online condolences can be made to www.byarsfuneralhome.com.
