Lisbon - Carol Jeannine (Meeker) Plante, 50, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, of a gastrointestinal disease.Carol was born Sept. 30, 1963, in Norwich, and graduated from Stonington High School in 1982.She is survived by her parents, Robert and Rose-Andree Meeker of Pawcatuck; her sisters, Louise Hendrickson and Susan Durfee. Carol leaves behind the love of her life, Frank Torrey of Lisbon, her two children, Tiffany (Plante) Valentine and Keith Plante. Missing her the most will be her three grandchildren, Kody 7, Brooke 6, and Leah 4, all who delighted in baking cookies and being doted upon at their sleepovers at "MIMI's"She was predeceased in 1965 by her five-year-old sister, Priscilla.To celebrate Carol's love of life, a memorial service will be held at noon Monday, March 24, at the Sprague Rod and Gun Club.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Smilow Cancer Center in New Haven through www.giveclosertofree.org.
