CAROL JEANDUNN, 66Minister of Music LAKELAND - Carol Jean Dunn, age 66, died of cancer Jan. 27, 2008. Born in Hammond, IN., on April 10, 1941, Carol Jean moved to Lakeland from Hammond, IN., when she was just 18. Throughout her childhood, she studied music and played several instruments. Upon completion of her music degree at Baptist Bible Institute, she served the Lord by ministering through music. In her retirement years, she delighted in working with children's choirs and the nursing home ministry at Valencia Hills through Kathleen Baptist. She rejoiced on a daily basis, and found pleasure in everything. She always had a song in her heart and a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her on earth, but happily welcomed by her heavenly family. Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her son Billy Dunn. She is survived by her husband W. Franklin Dunn, Lakeland; daughter Judy Jecko, Cairo, GA.; sister Shirley Schaller, Lakeland, FL., her loyal companion and loving spoiled dog Amber Jean; and numerous other beloved family members. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at Kathleen Baptist Church. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Socrum Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, 33823, or Kathleen Baptist Church building fund.
