Carol B. Smith (nee Bowden) of West Deptford, NJ, formerly of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away at age 84 peacefully with her family surrounding her on December 24, 2013. Legacy Born in Ardmore, PA, Carol graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School in Moylan, PA in 1946. Prior to retirement she was employed by Gloucester County College Public Information Department for 9 years. Carol and her husband retired to Virginia Beach for 20 years where she enjoyed tennis and was secretary of Seaweed Circle, Kings Daughters and Men and was very active in fundraising for this charitable group. Family She is the beloved wife of 62 years to Joseph E. Smith; devoted mother of Richard (Kathleen) of Woodbury Heights, NJ, Suzanne Taylor recently of Margate, NJ and Michael (Cindy) of Arlington, TX; loving grandmother of Jeffrey Taylor (Aimee), Bryan, Amanda and Melissa Smith and the late Christopher Taylor and great-grandmother of Owen and Ethan; dear sister of Constance Hutchinson, Marjorie Davis, Robert Bowden and the late Joseph Bowden.
