Carol Anderson, born in 1945, spouse of Al Anderson, daughter of Vesta, died on November 24, 2002. Please consult the obituary here:
ANDERSON _ Carol Ann (Blum). Born February 12, 1945, died with her family at her bedside November 24th, 2002 in Hawthorne Care Center, Port Coquitlam. Carol leaves behind her "three boys" - husband Al, sons Scot and Bret (Jennifer) and three beautiful granddaughters: Grace, Hayley and Isabelle. In Bellingham, Washington, where she was born, she leaves her mother Vesta, brother Bob (Karen), plus many nieces and nephews. Carol was an educator by profession who taught in Bellingham, Washington; Santa Barbara, California; and after a seventeen year hiatus to raise her children; Surrey, B.C. Students everywhere loved Carol and she gave more than generously of her time to them and to her profession, until slowed by illness in 1994. To a couple of decades of PoCo rugby players she was "mom": She traveled with them all over B.C. and to places like Britain and Ottawa. Outside school, Carol loved to garden, travel, and to do craft work with her group of friends, but most of all she liked to watch her boys participate in athletic endeavors. She was always there whatever sport they were playing. In the last three years, though she couldn't walk, she insisted on sitting in regular seats at B.C. Place, to watch the Lions ... "We'll see you at the games Carol" ... Thanks to all the professional, caring people at Hawthorne Care Center, and a special thanks to Dr. Beth Payne who is always above and beyond. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30th at Burkeview Family Care, 1340 Dominion Ave., Port Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society or the S.P.C.A.
