Mrs. Carol Alexander, age 93, formerly of Simpsonville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at Wesley Commons in Greenwood.A native of Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Bessie Pratt Nickels. She was a graduate of Lander University and was a member of Kappa Delta Honor Society for Teachers. She taught middle school for many years. Mrs. Alexander, along with her husband, delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She was a longtime member of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, where she taught the Ruth Sunday School Class for more than 30 years. She is survived by her loving family: Daughters, Anita Cebulski and husband, Jim, of Lakeland, Fla., and Sue Jaffe and husband, Lee, of Ninety-Six, S.C.; sisters, Mildred Racette of San Diego, Calif., Martha Agnew of Charlotte, N.C., Agnes Reddick of Greenwood, S.C., and Pat Fitchett of Richmond, Va.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Whit Alexander, and a son, Whit Alexander Jr.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, from the chapel of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Harling officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials please be made to Simpsonville First Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 106 Church St., Simpsonville, S.C. 29681; or to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St., Greenville, SC 29605.The family is at their respective homes.Cannon Funerals and Cremations is serving the Alexander family.
