CARTER, Carl Eugene "Gene" was born in Coalinga, California on November 24th, 1920. He passed away on July 10th, 2013 in Hermitage, Tennessee. He was the son of the late, Floyd Carter and Maude Meadows Carter of Granville, Tennessee. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Nell Stout Carter; his daughter, Brenda Carter Alexander; his brothers, Arnold Carter and Floyd Vanoy Carter; his two sisters, Anna Carter Martin and Juanita Carter Ewart. He is survived by his son, Ronnie Carter; his daughter, Nelda Carter Tulley and husband Tommy Tulley; his son-in-law, Mike Alexander; his grandchildren, Missy Carter Sego, Bryan Carter and wife, Jaclyn Carter, Jennifer Tulley Tunnel and husband, Doyle Tunnel, Dewey Tulley, Emily Alexander and Michael Alexander II; his great-grandchildren, Elissa Sego, Dalton Sego, Trey Tunnel, Tommy Tunnel, Keaton Carter; his great-grandchildren, Adaline Sego and Annabell Sego; his sister, Pauline Carter Andrus; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and a host of grand- and great grand- nieces and nephews. He was a member of Broadmoor Family Worship center for over 60 years where he enthusiastically taught Sunday School for over 20 years and was a member of the Pastor's Council for multiple terms. He worked for the Life of Georgia Insurance Company for over 40 years. He valued and took great pride in his family. He was a long time member of the Full Gospel Business Mens Fellowship International. He enjoyed fishing and hunting but fishing came first. He loved to read and study the Bible and tell others about it. He was quoting scripture the day before he passed away. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Forest Lawn Chapel with Dr. Daniel Walker officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with family serving as Pallbearers. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and 2 hours prior to the service Saturday.
