PEACOCK - Calvin Alexander "Alex" , 88 of Syosset, NY one of the last few of the Greatest Generation passed away in the arms of his family Tuesday, June 12th. Funeral services with full Military Honors are at 10:00AM Friday, June 15, 2007 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024 with Chaplin Nick Greenwalt, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Able Funeral Chapel, 1627 North 51st Avenue, Phoenix, 85035 on Thursday evening, June 14, 2007 from 6-8PM. A native of Washington County, OH and a recent resident of Paradise Valley since 2007, when he moved here from Syosset, NY, Alex was a retired accountant in the computer section of Geico Insurance Co; a Lutheran and US Army Officer and veteran of World War II and Korean War. Alex attended Pace University and was a very avid sailor. He is survived by his wife, Lois of Paradise Valley, AZ; a daughter, Lynne Fiore and her husband, Frank of Paradise Valley, AZ and a grandson, Christopher J. "CJ" Fiore of Paradise Valley, AZ.
