ANDERSON, CHARLES EDWARD, "CHARLIE" - age 65, of Loudon, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior before his home going on Thursday, February 05, 2015. Charlie graduated high school and entered the US Army in June of 1969 where he served with honor and merit including a one year tour of duty in Viet Nam. He continued to serve in the Army National Guard. Charlie was a member of the Ivo Sanders American Legion Post 120 and was a member and past commander of the Huff VFW Post 5150. Charlie joined the staff of Bob McEachern's Photographers in the late 1970's where he worked for 35 years traveling Kentucky and Tennessee taking school pictures of the "kids". He truly enjoyed all the friendships he made with the students, teachers, and administrators over the years of his career. In later life, Charlie realized he could grow a pretty good beard. He loved it when youngsters would point at him in amazement thinking they had bumped into Santa Claus himself. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Mary Black Anderson. He is survived by his life-long friend, John Harrell, of Lenoir City, and a multitude of friends. Services honoring and remembering Charlie Anderson will be held 2:30 PM, Saturday, February 7th, McGill-Karnes Chapel. Rev. Rick Harrell officiating. Interment to follow in Loudon County Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity supporting children or veterans services. Friends will be accepted 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the Service at McGill-Karnes Funeral home, Loudon.www.mcgillkarnes.com
