Obituary of Cecil-James Carter


CARTER, Mr. Cecil James, formerly of Dyersburg, IN, a resident of Mont-gomery for the past 35 years ex-pired Monday, April 25, 2005 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. from Calvary Presbyteri-an Church, 164 Wade Street, with Rev. Lisa Mitchell, officiating. Inter-ment will follow in Greenwood Se-renity Gardens, with Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, Inc., directing. The body will lie in state at the church from noon to 1:00 P.M. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Mary S. Carter. Chil-dren include: three daughters: Kay Carter-Corker (Greg), Richmond, VA.; Linda Carter, Montgomery, AL.; and Javis Franklin Wilson, Mont-gomery, AL.; three sons residing in Montgomery, AL [Harold B. Franklin (Carolyn), Louis V. Franklin (Lucr-etia) and Warren O. Franklin]; two sisters: Barbara Gray, Paducah, KY.; and Laurrece Hatchett, Cincinnati, OH.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-ígrandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and devoted friends. In lieu of flowers, please make do-nations to Calvary Presbyterian Church Youth Foundation.
