Catherine T. Flaherty, a resident of Montrose, NY died on December 1, 2007, after a short illness in Hudson Valley Hospital. She was 73. Catherine was born February 9, 1934 in Yonkers to Catherine and Declan Troy. She attended Sacred Heart School. Catherine married James F. Flaherty of Verplanck, NY on September 24, 1955. They were married for 22 years until his death in 1977. Catherine worked for the Town of Cortlandt building department for 19 years. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Verplanck. Catherine loved politics, shopping and traveling. She also enjoyed the winters in florida with her sister Helen (Troy) Curran. She is survived by 2 sons, Michael of Highland,NY and James (Kim) of Newburgh ,NY, her daughter Patricia (John) D'Alesio of Yorktown, NY and four grandchildren.She is predeceased by on sister Mary (Troy) Galvin of Yonkers,NY. Vistation will be on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Cortlandt Funeral Home, 97 Broadway, Verplanck,NY. A funeral mass will be held 10 AM on Thursday at St. Patrick's Church. Internment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verplanck ,NY.
