WILLIAMS, CATHERINE HELENCatherine Helen Williams, a resident of Ossining, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 15, 2005. Last year, on Sunday, March 14, 2004, friends and family joined together in a big birthday celebration, honoring her 90th birthday. She turned 91 on Monday, March 14, 2005. Catherine was born in North Tarrytown to Nicholas and Catherine Kofka. She worked for many years at General Motors in North Tarrytown and then at Eastern Aircraft working for the war effort. After her youngest child became school age, she went back to work and was employed by the Ossining School District until her retirement. "Katie, with a constant twinkle in those blue eyes, had a real zest for life- you always knew where you stood with Katie!" She had strong moral values and instilled in all her children a solid work ethic, a true sense of "family first" loyalty. Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas A. Williams; one son, Thomas (Butchie) Williams; four brothers: John, Nicholas, Frank and Joseph Kofka and one sister,, Julia Drahos. She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Piazza and Catherine Trocheck; two grandchildren: Barbara Jean Piazza-Roche and Thomas M. Trocheck and one great-grandson, John Roche. Catherine was a senior member of the First Catholic Slovac Ladies Association, and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ossining Washington Hook and Ladder Company. Both she and her husband were members of the Ossining Senior Citizens and the Golden Agers Club #1. Catherine was a parishioner of St. Ann's Church in Ossining for over 60 years. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, with the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10 am at St. Ann's Church. The interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
