SMITH, Carolyn Bennett, 88, of Temple Terrace, passed away Friday, October 14, 2005. She was born April 12, 1917, in Mt. Sterling, Ala. to Thomas Benton and Elizabeth Powell Bennett. She graduated from Montevallo College in 1939. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Col. Charles C. Smith Jr., retiree from the U.S. Air Force. She is survived by one son, Charles C. Smith III of Hephzibah, Ga.; and one daughter, Patricia S. Reyes and husband, Ken, of Tampa; two grandchildren, David Reyes and wife, Jill, of Atlanta, Ga. and Julie Reyes of Tampa; one brother, Davis Bennett of Birmingham, Ala.; two nephews, Davey Bennett of Birmingham and Tom Bennett of Sarasota; four nieces, Beth B. Deeb of Ellijay, Ga., Sue B. Staff of Birmingham, Emily Ray of Decatur, Ala. and Jane Trimm of Hoover, Ala. A service celebrating the life of Carolyn will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, with prayer services to begin at 7 p.m., at Terrace Oaks Funeral Home, 12690 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace, Florida 3 3617.
