SMITHAugust 23, 2011Carolyn Barden Smith 92, of Port Charlotte, Fla. passed away August, 23, 2011.She was born December 23, 1918, in Fort Myers, Florida to Edward R. and Goldie H. Barden. Carolyn moved to Port Charlotte in 2004 from Fort Myers. She is a graduate of Fort Myers High School; she worked with her parents in the family business - Second Street Grocery, and later with her husband Sidney in building construction and cabinet making and in real estate.Carolyn is survived by her nephew Ernest A. Kinzie of Barrington, RI and niece Rebecca K. Holmes of North Port, Florida; great-nephews David Holmes of North Port, Florida, Christopher Kinzie of San Diego, California and Aaron Kinzie of Apex, N. C.She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Sidney; a brother Ned Barden, sisters Sarah Barden and Rebecca Kinzie.Arrangements are by Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home and cremation services Port Charlotte, Florida.
