STUART--Caroline Evans, 93, died April 1 at her home at Meadow Lakes Retirement Community in Hightstown, NJ. Her passing was peaceful, with family by her side. Born March 18, 1920 to Herbert and Adella Evans, Caroline had two brothers: Franklin and Herbert Evans Jr. She graduated Ohio University in 1942 (BS in Education), and completed her Masters Degree at Columbia University in 1948. In 1970, she married the love of her life James B. Stuart. She became a beloved stepmother to his children, and grandmother to their children. In retirement, Caroline established the "Education Award Fund," which provides tuition assistance to Meadow Lakes employees who are also college students. Caroline is survived by her nephews: Peter Evans, David Evans, and Lance Evans, her stepchildren Robert Stuart, Diane Westman, Laird Stuart, and Bruce Stuart, as well as eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A memorial will be held April 13 at 11am at Meadow Lakes Retirement Community in Hightstown, NJ.
