Funeral service for Carol Mitchell, 64, South Blue Lake Avenue, DeLand, who passed away April 10, 2007 at Oakwood Garden, DeLand, will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, at Lankford Funeral Home, DeLand. Burial will be at the Lake Helen - Cassadaga Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave., DeLand. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Washington, D.C. and moved to this area 45 years ago from Maryland. She was a homemaker. She was an Honorary Fair Director, member of the F.F.A., the Cattle Men and Women Association, the 4-H and the American Legion Auxiliary in Lake Helen. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, William E. Mitchell, DeLand; daughters, Peggy Mitchell and Mary Mitchell, both of DeLand; half sister, Alevia Duley, Maryland; brothers, Patrick Duley and Clark Duley, both of Maryland; grandchildren, Charles Redey, Patrick Redey, Sissy Redey Marie Mitchell, Kyle, Kala, Michelle, Chet, Joanna, Tay and Blake. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Alta Clark.
