Capt. -Usmc-Ret-James-H. Davis, spouse of Barbara Davis, father of Cheryl, Carolie, Jim, David and Tim, died at 20 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Our much loved husband, dad, granddad & friend left this life on April 16, 2012 for his eternal rest. Jim served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1974 beginning his career in Korea & ending in Viet Nam. Retirement took Jim in a different direction as he joined the Watson Realty Corp team in Jacksonville and opened the first office here in Ormond Beach. He and his wife Barbara owned and taught real estate classes at the Real Estate Learning Institute until Jim's health began to fail. In 1992 Jim was recipient of a heart transplant, a gift that gave him almost 20 years of watching his loving family grow and multiply. Jim is survived by his very loving wife, Barbara; two daughters, Cheryl Welch (Peter) & Carolie Northrip (Rob); three sons, Jim (Stacey), David (Gwen), Tim (Natalie); eight grandchildren, Chase & Amanda Northrip, Brittany & Christopher Welch, Reese, Sophie & Drew Davis and Robyn Carden (Jamie). He was loved, cherished and admired every day of his life. The world has lost not only a great Marine, a loyal husband and dad but a kind and loving soul. May his eternal life bring him the joy and love that he brought to those he touched here. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday April 21, 2012 at the Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.volusiamemorialfunerals.com. God bless you, Jim Davis, and Semper Fi!
