WILLIAMS, Bruce Kenneth, 72, of Tampa, passed away peacefully athome April 14, 2010, of natural causes. He was born in Middle-town, Conn. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Leslie and Ann Risch Williams. He is survived by his loving wife, Tanya (Goldie) Williams of Tampa; his former wife, Sheila Williams of Tampa; and their sons, Sheldon Williams (Gale) of Roy, Utah, Colin Williams (Shari) of Tampa and Kurt Williams of Tampa; five grand-children, Trevor, Kenneth, Rebekah, Brittany and Daniel; and two great-grandchildren, Jakob and Garren. Bruce is also survived by a brother, Gary Williams (Jane) of New London, Conn.; a sister, Gail Zimmerman of Mystic, Conn.; a brother-in-law, Michael Hiott of Tampa; a niece, Lorie Williams of Boston, Mass.; and a nephew, Kenny Williams (Christine) of Vail, Colo. Bruce graduated from New London High School in 1955. Bruce honorably retired from the U.S. Air Force as a senior master sergeant in Aerospace Ground Equipment receiving the Meritorious Service Medal for Outstanding Service from July 25, 1979, to February 29, 1984. He went on to complete a successful career of 22 years as a senior maintenance technician at the Ammonia Terminal in Port Sutton, Fla. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose 912 Tampa Interbay and Post 138 American Legion. Bruce was the president of the South Tampa Dart League and was instrumental in creating the Cougar Dart League, which he played in for over 20 years. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. Interment will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery.
