JOHNSON, Brenda Marion(nee Cranston)November 5, 1954 - Fort St. John, British Columbia March 9, 2015 – Calgary, AlbertaBrenda Johnson (nee Cranston), beloved wife of Brian Johnson of Calgary, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the age of 60 years. Brenda graduated from North Peace Secondary School in 1970. She was a lifelong learner, continuing her education at UBC, and receiving her Certificate from the Canadian Payroll Association in 2000, as well as being a Certified Financial Management Accountant. She and Brian were married on August 4, 1979. Brenda loved to sing, and was a part of Sweet Adeline's International Barbershop chorus, including Chinook Winds Show Chorus and Rhythm of the Rockies Chorus. She was employed with the University of Calgary and CISSA (Center for International Students and Study Abroad). Family meant everything to Brenda and she also enjoyed cooking, baking, music, gardening and travel. Besides her loving husband, Brenda is remembered by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberley and Kyle Lanser, Megan Johnson-Salewich and Rob Salewich, and Ashley den Hartog; grandson Troy Lanser; mother Sylvia Cranston; brother Greg Cranston (Barb Bolding); sisters, Heather Cranston (Shelley Stunell), Candace Ingram, and Gretchen Boulanger (Bernie Boulanger); and countless nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Stuart Cranston. A Celebration of Brenda's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
