Brenda Jean Williams WELLFORD, SC-- Brenda Jean Williams, 61, of Wellford, SC, died on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at her home. Born April 12, 1951, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Dewey Brown Sr. and Dorothy Jean Revels Brown. Known as "Gramsey", she loved playing with her grandchildren and enjoyed working in her yard. She retired from Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Systems as a registered nurse, was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church, a graduate of Dorman High School, and also USC Upstate, where she received her nursing degree. Survivors include her loving husband, George Donald Williams; sons, Craig Splawn (Brandy), Chad Splawn (Kim), and Chris Splawn; "Gramsey's grand's", Dylan, Ethan, Bryson, Nathan, Whitney, Katie, Zach, and Hannah; step-children, Gwen Jones (Marshall), Kenneth Williams, Brian Williams (Kathy), and Michael Williams (Michelle); sister, Judy Gibbs (Tommy); and brothers, Billy Brown (Melody) and Jeff Brown. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 14, 2013, in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Gary Hensley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Charles Lea Center, 195 Burdette Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of Chad Splawn.
