DRACUT - Brenda G. (Frechette) Smith, 49, a lifelong Dracut resident, died yesterday, May 16, after a brief illness. She was the wife of James Smith.She was born in Lowell, on Nov. 10, 1953, a daughter of Roland Frechette and the late Bridget (Demers) Frechette. She graduated in 1971 from Dracut High School.She worked at Honeywell Bull for 24 years, and later at Mapics, where she worked in software support until her illness.Mrs. Smith devoted her time to her nephew and extended family and friends.Besides her husband, survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Joseph Whalen of Gilford, N.H.; her mother-in-law, Lillian Smith of Lowell; a brother-in-law and his wife, Thomas and Margaret Smith of Houston; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Kostka of Lowell and Anne-Marie Balamotis of Raymond, N.H.; a nephew and his wife, Randy and Jennifer Wasylak of Bedford, N.H.; and two grandnieces, Jordan and Cameron Wasylak of Bedford, N.H..She also leaves close friends, including the LeBel family and Jessica Proulx; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.She was 'the daughter-in-law of the late Thomas E. Smith.
