FORT LAWN – Mrs. Bonnie Mae Blanton Carter, 79, of Fort Lawn, passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at Wayne T. Patrick House in Rock Hill. She was born May 21, 1935, in Charlotte, a daughter of the late Ernest Ervin Blanton and Carrie Margaret Carter Blanton. Mrs. Carter was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and had retired from Springs Industries after 43 years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was strong in her faith and was a hard worker. She loved to travel and meet new people.A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Carter is 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home, with the Revs. Ronnie Boone, Dr. V. Ray Robinson and Donald Tillman officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.Mrs. Carter is survived by a son, Charles T. Carter Sr. of Heath Springs; two daughters, Pam Blakemore and her husband, James, of Fort Lawn and Betty Graham and her husband, Everette, of Holden Beach, N.C.; a sister, Nellie Montgomery of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren, Christy Parker, Christopher Byron Carter, Andrea Distler, Charles Thomas Carter Jr. Jeanette Carter, Douglas Carter and Amber Nichole Blakemore; and six great-grandchildren, Christopher Bryon Carter II, Collin Parker, Caroline Parker, Dakota Carter, Nicholas Carter and Ethan Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, George Blanton, John Blanton, Lonnie Blanton and Ernest Blanton Jr.; and five sisters, Barbara Henry, Margaret Thompson, Velma Kerns, Mildred Blanton and Delores Watts.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 30, at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 5516 Hillsdale Drive, Fort Lawn.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, P.O.
