CARTER, Bonnie Eileen(nee Lewis)Passed away March 18, 2015 with her family at her side. Beloved wife of Paul Carter. Loving mother of Melissa Atkin and Sean Atkin. Dear stepmother of Crystal Carter (Frank Aguiar) and Matt Carter (Amy Lassaline). Loving step-grandmother of Olivia Aguiar. Cherished daughter of Edithe and J.R. Lewis. Dear sister of Rebecca Ashworth, Doug (Susan) Lewis and Brian (Kelly) Lewis. Loving aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews, with a special place in her heart for her eldest niece Rene Lewis and her children Dannika and Joshua. Bonnie graduated as a Registered Nurse from Public General Hospital in Chatham in 1971. She was a nurse in Essex County for nearly 40 years, most notably with the V.O.N. She was well-known for the extraordinary and compassionate care she gave to her patients and their families. Growing up, Bonnie was an exceptional athlete and accomplished pianist. She maintained her love of music and sports, and was an avid hockey mom. Her wonderful sense of humour and spirit will be greatly missed.
