FISHKILL, N.Y. -- Blanche Pulsifer White, 91, died at Wingate At Dutchess in Fishkill on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003.Mrs. White was born on Jan. 3, 1912, at Wittenberg, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of Bertha and Seward G. Pulsifer.In 1931, she entered Edgehill, a church school for girls, where she received her licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music, London, having studied under E.R. Weller, LRCM.In 1940, she married Walter S. White, who predeceased her in 1987. They lived for many years in Jacksonville, Vt., where she taught music in the public school system and he taught high school. While living there they had two sons, Daynor and Duane who live in Wappingers Falls.In 1956, the family moved to Wappingers Falls where Mr. White continued to teach high school and Mrs. White taught piano lessons privately.Upon Mr. White's retirement, Mr. and Mrs. White returned to their home in Jacksonville until Mr. White's death. Mrs. White then moved back to Wappingers Falls to be near her family.Mrs. White was a member of the Jacksonville Community Church, for many years being involved in church activities in many ways including organist and choir director. She also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wappingers Falls for more than 45 years.In addition to her two sons, Mrs. White is survived by four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Wahl of Crescent Lake, Maine; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. White was also predeceased by three brothers, Orville, Alden and Cecil Pulsifer; and sisters, Rene Chandler and Eva Nicolle.
