Blanche Naomi Simmons, 74, wife of Robert W. "Wes" Simmons, of 371 Woodall Mountain Road, passed away July 18, 2007, at Palmetto Baptist Health.Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. John B. "JB" Eades and Zona Scroggs Eades. She was formerly married to the late Henry Hiram Lyda and the Rev. G. Frank Dempsey. Mrs. Simmons was a member of Gap Hill Church of God and a homemaker.Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Angela M. Hamilton of Easley; son; Gerald W. Lyda of Pickens; sisters, Clara Bell Smith, Ruth Hester, and Gladys Howard; brothers, Hilton Eades, John Edward Eades, Waymon Eades, Milford Eades, and Paul Eades; grandson, Jeff Lyda; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a stepmother, Ruth Bradley; several stepchildren; stepgrandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren.A brother, J.W. Eades, predeceased her.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Gap Hill Church of God.
