Obituary of Blanche Morin


DANVERS -- Blanche B. (Belanger) Morin, 101, a resident of Danvers, died yesterday morning, March 5, at the Hunt Nursing and Retirement Home in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Philip Morin.She was born in Salem, daughter of the late Edmond and Clara M. Belanger. She was raised in Salem. One of 12 children, she dropped out of school after the eighth grade to help her mother raise her younger siblings. She worked at Sylvania making light bulbs.In 1929, she married Philip Morin and the couple moved to Beverly, where she lived for more than 70 years. She had been a resident at the Hunt Nursing and Retirement Home in Danvers for the past eight years. Mrs. Morin loved sewing, cooking and playing poker. She loved to laugh and was a caring homemaker, family members said.Her survivors include a son, Norman Morin of Dracut; a sister, Lucille Forcier of Danvers; two grandchildren, Michael Morin and Cheri Meuse; four great-grandchildren, Joses and Sarah Morin, Jennifer Hyder and Joyce Noel; three great-great-grandchildren, Courtney and Hailey Noel, and Daniel Hyder; and many nieces and nephews.She was also the sister of the late Phillippe, Vitale, Edmond, Leon, Orel, Lucien, Rose, Delia and Alice, and grandmother of the late Richard Morin.
