Blanche Jane Harrington, 75, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 5:55 a.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born March 22, 1935 in West Frankfort, Illinois, the daughter of the late Carl and Louise (Walton) Odle. She married Jerry D. Harrington Sr. on February 24, 1956 in Cornith, Mississippi and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2009. She was a homemaker and co-owner and operator of Comfort Heating and Cooling for many years. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Melody Strack of Granite City and Peggy (Danny) Greene of Granite City; two sons, Jerry (Sherry) Harrington Jr. of Granite City and Steve (Tom Geer) Harrington of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jimmy (Cassidy) Aldridge, Melissa (Sean) Carver, Kenny Knott, Daniel Greene, Jared Harrington, Jordan Harrington and Nicole Greene; three great grandchildren, Savannah Aldridge, Dylan Aldridge and Alexandria Mayes; one great great grandson, Jasiah Dunn; one brother, Don (Sharon) Odle of West Frankfort; sister-in-law, Terri Odle of Riverside, California; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe (Helen) Harrington Sr. of Granite City; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband of 53 years and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Odle. In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Private family burial will follow on Wednesday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
