WALLINGFORD - Blanche E. (Racine) Girard, 83, beloved wife of the late Anthony Girard of North Turnpike Road, Wallingford, died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at The Regency House in Wallingford. Born in St. Jean, Province of Quebec, Canada, June 14, 1922, a daughter of the late Ulric and Blandine (Denault) Racine, she had been a Wallingford resident for over 60 years. She had been employed by the Phelps Dodge Company in Wallingford for many years until her retirement in 1984 and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in the Yalesville section of Wallingford. She is survived by her two sons, Robert J. Girard of Wallingford and Daniel A. Girard of Meriden; her five grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; her three sisters, Claire Tetrault of Champlain, N.Y., Irene Tetrault of Rouses Point, N.Y., and Loretta Favreau of Florida; her three brothers, George Racine of Rouses Point, N.Y., Roland Racine of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Maurice Racine of Champlain, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Bertha Robinson; and four brothers, Arthur, Allyre, Alfred and Rene Racine. Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Tuesday, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, South Central CT Chapter, 2911 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, CT 06518.
