Billy Joe Jenkins, beloved husband of Kathryn K. Jenkins, went home to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer May 23, 2010, at Cottingham Hospice House in his 70th year. He was born in Natchez, MS, to the late Cecil and Eliza Mae Jenkins. In addition to his wife, he is survived by step sons Stephen St. Peter of Easley and Joshua St. Peter of Colorado Springs, CO; and a brother Allen Jenkins and wife Donna of Crystal Springs, MS.Mr. Jenkins was a decorated US Army veteran where he served with distinction in Turkey and Germany. After 21 years of service, he entered the textile industry in Pickens County where he worked in several roles and retired from Alice Manufacturing as a supervisor. Mr. Jenkins was a faithful member at Rock Springs Baptist Church for over 40 years.Funeral service 11 AM Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Visitation 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Dillard Funeral Home. Burial with military honors in Hillcrest Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to Rock Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Rock Springs Road, Easley, SC 29642.A message of condolence may be expressed at www.dillardfunerals.com.DILLARD FUNERAL HOME
