ObituaryLester E. (Bill) White of Fort Myers, Florida died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Southwest Regional Memorial Hospital. Complications related to congestive heart failure was the cause of death. He was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on February 11, 1920, the son of J.L. White and Ola Mae White Wolff. He has been a resident of River Forest Community since moving from Morris Chapel, TN in 1981, where he owned and operated the Dickey Landing RV Park on the banks of the Tenn. river. His early years was spent in Oklahoma but spent most of his adult life around Indianapolis, IN. Bill was in the Merchant Marines during WWII and later the US Coast Guard. His love for ships and water continued throughout his life. Some of his career achievements were, 1) owning and operating a marina on the Ohio River, 2) working as Superintendent of an Indiana Correctional System facility, and 3) was an insurance broker with the major company being Allstate Insurance. He was a long time member of the Go-See-Um Sams Club, a member of RIFCA in his River Forest Community, and loved traveling in their 'Blue Bird' RV.: He was an avid reader, loved working on the computer, enjoyed looking for 'bargains' wherever he could find them. Living in the Indianapolis area, Bill was of course a racing fan. More recently he enjoyed watching the Nascar races and also loved Golf. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loral Wolfe White, his parents, his sister, Margaret, grandsons, Russ Wolfe, and his grandmother, Jessie Lee Blakenship of Savannah, TN. He is survived by step-daughter and husband, George Ann and Dan Ingram of Fort Myers, FL; step-son and wife, John and Charlotte Wolfe of Savannah, TN, (4) grandchildren and (2) great-grandchildren. Funeral will be 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home at 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL (941-334-4880).
