BRATTLEBORO -- Beverly H. Berry Williams, 82, of 114 Frost St., died unexpectedly on Sunday morning, Feb. 1, 2004, at her home.She was born May 14, 1921, in St. Johnsbury, the daughter of LeRoy and Fatima (Gilman) Berry. She attended schools in Wheelock, Sheffield and Hardwick. She received her high school diploma from Brattleboro Union High School in 1986 at the age of 65.She was a former resident of Bristol, Conn., and had made her home in Brattleboro since 1948.Mrs. Williams was formerly employed at the H. Margolin Co. in Brattleboro and later worked at The Book Press in Brattleboro for 23 years, retiring in 1983.She was a member of VFW Post #758 Auxiliary in St. Albans.She was first married to Olavi Nurmi, who died in 1966.She later married Clyde K. Williams in 1966.Besides her husband of Brattleboro, she leaves a son, Theodore M. Nurmi of Gary, Ind.; three daughters, Linda Nurmi Boisvert of Canton, Ga., Kathleen Nurmi Behnke of Pensacola, Fla., and Faye Nurmi Bishop of Brattleboro; a sister, Beatrice E. Coughlin of Brattleboro; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by a son, Keith E. Nurmi; a daughter, Carolyn Nurmi Musick-Smith; three brothers, Burton L. Berry, Basil R. Berry, and Bruce 0. Berry; four sisters, Bernita Dexter, Blanche Ekstrom, Beryl Brown, and Barbara Holtzclaw.FUNERAL NOTICE -- Beverly H. Berry Williams, 82, of 114 Frost St. in Brattleboro died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at her home.A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. at the West Brattleboro Baptist Church. There will be no calling hours.A potluck gathering will be held at the church following the service.Burial will be in the spring in the family lot in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery in Brattleboro.Contributions may be made in Mrs. Williams' memory to the American Cancer Society, 13 Loomis St., Montpelier, VT 05602, or to the Brattleboro Area Hospice, 191 Canal St., Brattleboro, VT 05301.Cards of sympathy may be sent in care of Faye Bishop, Box 6104, Brattleboro, VT 05302.Arrangements are under the direction of MAX E.
