COX, BEVERLY WHITEHEAD, 61, of Crestwood, died Monday, June 20, 2005, at home. She was a native of Wilmington, DE and an active member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. She was also a three-time Kentucky Colonel, Torch Award Winner for Oldham County Schools in 1996 and 2002, Oldham County Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) board member from 1988-1999, as well as, an honorary PTSA life-time member, Oldham County High School band-aides board member, Oldham County Boosters board member, cofounder of the original Centerfield Elementary Duck Derby, chief financial officer for Arbal Enterprises, owner-operator of the Fifi Semaj Club and a member of Croftboro Branch of YaYa Sisterhood. She is survived by her husband, Col. James R. "Jimm" Cox; a son, Matthew R. Cox; and two brothers, George H. "Chubby" Whitehead and Norris W. Whitehead. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Centerfield, with interment in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society or Hospice & Palliative Care of Louisville.
