Beverly-Jean-Baggs Rogers, daughter of Thelma-Johnston-Baggs and Fredrick, died on January 26, 2015.
ROGERS Beverly Jean Baggs Rogers, daughter of Thelma Johnston Baggs Terrell and Fredrick Baggs passed away on January 26, 2015. She is survived by daughters, Katherine Rogers and Amelia Rogers; son-in-law Douglas Green; grandson, Elia Green and brother, Charles Terrell. Beverly lived in Jacksonville all of her life and was active in dance and civic affairs. She worked on a ballet festival that brought George Balanchine and Ted Shaw to Jacksonville. As chairman of the Mayor s Commission on the Status of Women, she brought Princess Ashraf Pahlavi, ambassador of Iran to the United Nations, to Jacksonville to speak on the status of women. She recently received her 28th year recovery medallion and participated in The Lifestyle Interventions and Independence for Elders Study. Beverly enjoyed travel, antiques and tai chi. A memorial service will be held at St. John s Cathedral, 256 East Church Street, Jacksonville at 2 PM Monday, February 2, 2015.
