SEARSPORT - Beverly Emery Lane, 75, died peacefully Oct. 6, 2009, at home with his family by his side. Beverly had been fighting mesothelioma since December 2008. He was born July 17, 1934, in Bangor, the son of Emery and Bernice (York) Lane. Beverly loved the outdoors and big family get-togethers. He liked to make Christmas wreaths and visit the ocean. He enjoyed going to church and bringing his children and grandchildren. He lived to serve the Lord. He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon A. Lane; a brother, Calvert; and sisters, Marjorie Savage and Merita Lane. He is survived by sisters, Rachel Green and Carlene Osborne, both of Bangor, and Marilyne Harrison of Mississippi; brothers, Maynard and wife, Pam Lane, Danny and wife, Carol Lane, and Tony and wife, Marissa Lane, all of Bangor; his children, Delis Lane of Bangor, Cindy and husband, Dwayne Madden, of Greenbush, Robert Thomas of Portland, Laurie and husband, Jim Todd, of Belfast, Dawn and husband, Dan Ward, of Belfast and Alton Lane of Swanville; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Brooks Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Jonathan Hayes officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Searsport.
