Obituary of Beulah-Mae Johnson


JOHNSON Beulah Mae Johnson, 79, died Sunday morning, June 9, 2002. She was a lifelong Jacksonville resident and was Superintendent of the Parental Home for Girls on Parental Home Road. She retired in 1977 after 21 years of service to the community. She and her husband are Co-Founders and Charter members of University Baptist Church, established in 1950. Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Eugene Clifford Johnson Sr., four children, Eugene C. Johnson, Jr. (Alla), Berle F. McDonald (Don), Robert G. Johnson (Barbara) and Elizabeth A. Dowling (Buddy), sister, Jean Marie Johnson, brother, Ira Richardson (Dottie), ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Dr. Charles W. Davis, Jr., Reverend Ben Jones and Dr. Jack J. Dinsbeer will lead Funeral services at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at University Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6-8 PM tonight. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the Missions Account at University Baptist Church, 5520 University Blvd. W., Jacksonville, Fla. 32216.
