BETTY WHEELER-CAIN TITUSVILLE Betty Wheeler Cain, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 after a coura geous battle with colon cancer. Betty was born in St. Louis, MO, on March 8, 1931. She married Jack Wheeler in 1949 and had two sons, Jeff and Greg. The family moved to Titusville in 1961 where Betty worked at Coquina Elementary School and later at Imperial Estates Elementary School. Throughout her life Betty has always been so very generous with her time, talents and trea sures. She was a charter mem ber of Indian River City United Methodist Church where she served in many leadership roles, most recently serving on the Leadership Council. Betty also volunteered as the Execu tive Director of Habitat for Humanity for over 15 years. This remarkable woman has received numerous civic and charitable recognition awards including the Golden Hammer (Habitat for Humanity), Harry R. Lee Titusville Unity award, the Golden Rule award (JC Penney) and the Service to Mankind award (Sertoma). Betty and Jack were married for 47 years when he passed away. Betty married Perry Cain in 1999. Together they volunteered, traveled and enjoyed time with their family. Perry was tireless in his loving efforts to care for Betty, espe cially over the past five years. Betty is survived by her hus band, Perry Cain; her sister, Jaynette (Robert) Heberer, Jeff and Sandy Wheeler, Greg and Kim Wheeler, David and Melissa McNight, Jose and Vicki Romero; and seven grandchil dren. Betty was everyones angel. Her faith and her love of family shone in all she did and to ev eryone she met. A celebration of Bettys life will take place on Tuesday, May 13 at 4:00 p.m. at Indian River City United Meth odist Church in Titusville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Indian River City United Meth odist Church or Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County.
